Steering Board

The Digital Eve Israel steering committee are volunteers appointed by existing committee members based on their accomplishments as career women in Israel and their contributions to the Digital Eve Israel community. Their role is to ensure that the daily focus of the dynamic online forum as well as the live events remain relevant to professional issues and opportunities for women in Israel. Their daily involvement in guiding the organization fosters positive collaboration, strengthens the value for all members, and preserves the high quality of this growing professional community.

ABOUT THE CO-CHAIRWOMEN

Susan Fisher

It is a privilege to be the co-chairwoman of Digital Eve, an organisation which is dynamic and growing. I believe passionately that women can do anything and that everything should be open to us.

I am the Managing Director of First Class Training which I founded in 1991 and which has grown to become a leading vendor of personal effectiveness, global communication & cross-cultural training to Israeli high-tech. We make people sound, look & communicate better.

As well as managing the company, I coach at a senior level in management communication specializing in strategic messaging & presentation. I was born & educated in England and have been in Israel for over 20 years. I set up my own company for the classic reasons that women do that – because they have a passion and so that I could be the boss of my own time. Some of that time has been spent raising my five sons (Digital Adam?) who make me proud to be their working mother.

Leemor Machnai

Bringing 15 years of experience in international business management roles and in Human resources management, I feel being part of DEI is a natural networking platform for women, such as myself, whom are in the perpetual balancing act of career and personal life. Providing as well as learning from fellow professional women tools and advice as to how to do things better, stronger, smarter – is something we all share and is in my agenda as Co-Chairwomen to promote.

I don’t believe in glass ceilings. I believe in constantly striving up and forward and challenging ourselves. As a true believer in finding your core value and skill and focusing on it, I am the CEO of Machnai Weiss & Partners Ltd., an Executive Search and Business Coaching firm, founded a few years ago, based upon over 15 years experience gained in and with global companies, supporting their growth across Israel, APAC, Europe and the US.

Proud mom of two amazing girls, Eden and Lear.

Other Steering Board Members

Jo Friedman

Since beginning my career in hi-tech in the mid-1990s I’ve had the great privilege of working with a long line of top-notch women at companies in Israel, the U.S. and Australia. These women have been my bosses, colleagues, friends, and mentors, and I’m proud to say that I’ve learned a lot from each of them along the way. These experiences have made me a better manager, product designer, and mother to my four boys.

Aside from moderating Digital Eve, I am Product Design Manager at IBM –Jerusalem. I joined the team before the IBM acquisition when it was still a small Jerusalem start-up called Unicorn that created metadata solutions for international banking, insurance and government institutions. Prior to this job, I have designed and managed award-winning products for platforms as diverse as broadband Internet, web-TV, mobile phones and automotive telematics.

I have been a member of Digital Eve since the early days. What attracts me most about DEI are the same two characteristics I have always found distinctive about women in the workplace – that we are able to combine smart with nice. Smart makes the companies we lead successful, creative and visionary; Nice makes those companies responsible, open-minded and great places to work.

Behind every great business are great people and great partners. As a marketing consultant to start-up and established organizations for over 15 years, my clients from a wide spectrum of industries have had one common need: quality marketing by talented professionals. This is one reason why I am proud and appreciative to be integrally involved with Digital Eve Israel. Particularly since establishing Seital, a boutique firm specializing in marketing strategy & implementation, DEI has been a quantifiable source of value for my team and scores of our clients who have benefited from the services, insights and HR talent we have brought them through DEI. Therefore together with my fellow steering board members, I take pride in our hands-on approach to ensuring this forum remains a quality breeding ground of success, innovation and resources for professional women in Israel.

I’m also a proud mom to my three most rewarding and challenging customers – Meital, Sean & Sela and partner to their great dad, my husband Nissim.

Miriam Schwab

I believe that it is incumbent upon every society to support its women in gaining economic independence. Economic dependence has historically been a factor in many problems women face, and encouraging economic independence can allow women to seek growth, empowerment, and satisfaction in many areas of their lives.

That is why I was thrilled when asked to join the Digital Eve Israel Steering Board. I am a huge fan of Digital Eve and what it stands for, and I have seen how the community has truly helped women grow in their careers. It’s a privilege to be able to work with the other Steering Board members and the members of the group to strengthen the women’s business community in Israel.

Oh right, work: well, I run a Jerusalem-based firm, illuminea, that helps companies and organizations create and optimize their web presence with comprehensive blogging and social media strategies. illuminea’s clients include some of Israel’s biggest corporations, as well as shiny new technology startups. I am also a partner in amuta 2.0, a new venture aimed at helping non-profits use social media tools to promote their cause. I write and manage too many blogs: about business, WordPress, business women, non-profits, and one of my biggest loves: Israel.

And I have a bunch of kids. And a wonderful, supportive husband. And will never, ever have a dog, much to the chagrin of said kids.
